Projects we embrace
About half of the food produced in the world every year ends up in the trash. The Ugly Fruit Cooperative arises from the need to reverse this trend. This project aims to combat market inefficiency by creating an alternative market for the “ugly” fruits and vegetables that can change consumption patterns. A market that creates value for farmers and consumers and combats food waste and the unnecessary expenditure of resources used in their production. Dona Ajuda offers its space every Tuesday to sell these fruits and vegetables.
Dress a Girl Around the World is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2009 in the United States. Its mission is to make dresses to donate to girls in impoverished countries, providing them with dignity, protection, and hope. Dona Ajuda offers the space for a Dress A Girl hub. With fabrics donated to Dona Ajuda, we can help in making the dresses.
