Good Neighborhood Association
The Good Neighborhood Association was born out of the desire of some neighbors to do something useful for the community. This was their dream, and with the certainty that they all shared the values of citizenship and solidarity, they found their path. They all had professional jobs and families, leaving very little free time.
They decided the best thing would be to get to work close to home and thus not “waste” time on travel. They all lived in the Parish of Santo António and, therefore, decided to promote good relations among those who live and work in the same parish. At the first public event they organized, they gathered twenty people around the kiosk table in Jardim das Amoreiras to have a coffee and chat. It was World Neighbor Day! From then on, it kept growing.
Today, The Good Neighborhood is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, Multidisciplinary and Thematic, which develops and supports Social, Environmental, and Cultural projects. And because the scope of its activity extends far beyond the Parish of Santo António, the organization presents itself as the friendly Dona Ajuda in all the projects it is involved in.
