About us
Boa Vizinhança was founded in 2014, starting from the desire of a group of “neighbors” to do something useful for the community.
This group of neighbors, volunteering in their free time, initially began helping the local community in the parish of Santo António. As requests for help started coming in, the group needed to grow to meet the demands.
At its first public event, twenty people gathered around a table at the kiosk in Jardim das Amoreiras to have coffee and chat. It was World Neighbor Day (May 25th).
Today, Boa Vizinhança is a Private Social Solidarity Institution, multidisciplinary and thematic, that develops and supports projects in the Social, Environmental, and Cultural fields.
The scope of its activities has long surpassed the parish of Santo António, extending beyond the city, the country, and even Europe.
Vision
Our vision is to create a more just and welcoming world, where all people, regardless of their race, nationality, gender, ethnicity, or religion, have the opportunity to live with dignity and respect. We believe in a future where solidarity, inclusion, and empathy are the foundations of a more equitable society, where everyone can reach their full potential, contributing to a more harmonious and sustainable planet for future generations.

Our mission is to transform lives by building bridges between those who need support and those who can offer help, all willing to make a difference. We believe that by fostering solidarity, empathy, and mutual collaboration, we can contribute to a more just, sustainable, and vibrant world, where the actions of each individual work together to create a positive impact in the social, environmental, and cultural spheres. Together, we strive to improve the present and build a more inclusive and harmonious future for all and for the environment.
